When WhatsApp alone is enough
- You have few customers and you know all of them. You know what each one buys and when.
- The same person always answers, and also knows what’s in the warehouse.
- The catalog is small and can be sent in three photos.
- You don’t sell through any other channel that has its own published stock.
In that case, WhatsApp Business with its quick replies and catalog is enough, and adding a system just adds work.
When it starts to cost you
- “I think we have it, I’ll confirm tomorrow.” Every inquiry is a trip to the shelf, and meanwhile the customer asks someone else.
- Orders get lost in the chat. A twenty-item order ends up among voice notes and photos, and whoever prepares the load has to piece it together.
- Several people answer and each gives a different price.
- Stock isn’t deducted. What sold on WhatsApp still shows on Mercado Libre or in the store.
- Sending promotions without burning your number. Sending the same message to five hundred contacts at once is the fastest way to get blocked.
Side-by-side comparison
| WhatsApp only | Aty (with WhatsApp) | |
|---|---|---|
| Where the customer is | On WhatsApp. | Still on WhatsApp. |
| “Is it in stock?” | Someone goes to look. | You send the catalog link with real stock. |
| Prices | Whatever the person answering remembers. | Those from each customer’s list. |
| Orders | In the chat, among voice notes. | On a board, with the goods set aside. |
| Stock on other channels | It doesn’t find out. | Deducted once and updated everywhere. |
| Several numbers or people | Each on their own. | A single inbox with several numbers and mailboxes. |
| Campaigns | Manual broadcast. | Staggered sending, during your hours, only to those who opted in. |
| Cost | Free. | Monthly subscription, with 14 days free (see plans). |
What doesn’t change
Your customer keeps messaging you on WhatsApp. From the public catalog’s product page, they can send you the order on WhatsApp with the product and quantity already filled in. What changes is what happens on your side: the order is entered once, goes onto the board, the goods are set aside and the stock on all your channels finds out.
Campaigns also go out through WhatsApp, but with rules that lower the risk of getting your number blocked: staggered sending (for example, 200 messages per hour), only during the hours you define and only to contacts who opted in. Consent starts off and is turned on manually: there’s no way to skip it.
Conclusion
If you sell little, to customers you know and through a single channel, WhatsApp alone is enough. When several people answer, when you also list on marketplaces or when orders start getting lost in the chat, the problem is no longer WhatsApp: it’s that stock and orders live inside a conversation. Aty takes them out of there without taking you off WhatsApp.
