What we mean by “generic ERP”
A comprehensive management system designed for any industry: accounting, invoicing, purchasing, sales, stock, sometimes payroll. It’s usually installed or configured by an implementer, and adapting it to a specific industry is a project in itself.
We’re not talking about any particular product. There are very good ERPs, and for many companies they’re the right tool.
When an ERP fits
- You need accounting and payroll in the same system. Aty doesn’t do accounting or run payroll.
- You need electronic invoicing today, within the same system. Aty’s SIFEN integration is in development; today Aty doesn’t issue invoices.
- Your operation is manufacturing or services, not reselling materials.
- You already have a working ERP and the problem isn’t stock or channels.
When Aty fits
- Stock is the core of the business and it has to be right across several warehouses, in real time.
- You sell through marketplaces and social networks as well as the counter, and every channel has to show the same number.
- The warehouse works from a phone: receiving, shipping and counting without going back to the office.
- You want to start this week, not after an implementation project.
Side-by-side comparison
| Generic ERP | Aty | |
|---|---|---|
| Scope | Accounting, invoicing, purchasing, sales, stock and more. | Stock, channels, orders, quotes, purchases and collections. |
| Designed for | Any industry. | Building materials suppliers in Paraguay. |
| Getting started | Usually requires implementation. | From your spreadsheet, with 14 days free to try. |
| Marketplaces and store | Depends on separate connectors. | +OGA, Mercado Libre, Clasipar, Meta, Google Shopping, WooCommerce, Shopify and catalog, with rules per channel. Store orders come in on their own. |
| Use in the warehouse | Often designed for the desktop. | In your phone’s browser, nothing to install. |
| Quotes with reservation | Depends on the system. | Reserves the goods for 72 h, with frozen prices (Pro). |
| Checks in your portfolio | Depends on the system. | Included, with bank, number and deposit date. |
| Accounting | Yes. | No. |
| Electronic invoicing | Depends on the system. | SIFEN in development. |
| Connection with other systems | Depends on the system. | REST API, webhooks and MCP server. |
How they coexist
It’s not one or the other. Many companies will keep using their accounting or invoicing system, and that’s fine. Aty connects with other systems through a REST API with keys you create and revoke, and notifies you through webhooks when something changes. Each key has its own permission: a key that only needs to read, only reads.
A typical split: the ERP or invoicing system keeps handling accounting and invoices; Aty handles stock, channels, orders and day-to-day collection.
Conclusion
If you need a single system for the whole company, accounting included, a generic ERP is the answer and Aty doesn’t replace it. If your problem is that stock doesn’t add up, that each channel shows a different number and that the warehouse doesn’t use the system because it doesn’t help them, Aty solves that without a months-long project, and it can coexist with what you already have.
